Spec Property Changes its Name

sydney morning herald

Spec Property Group is celebrating 25 years in the building industry by changing its name to Samma Property Group and bringing other related companies, BuildID, Inhabit Design and Motion Maintenance under the moniker.

The company, founded in 1994 by Egyptian-born engineer Sam Abdelmalak, has completed $1.5 billion worth of projects in that time and a further $700 million worth of property is in the pipeline, including projects in Ivanhoe, South Melbourne and Fishermans Bend.

The Samma Group moves into its new 1000sq m head office in West Melbourne this month, the $170 million Flagstaff Green building. It will house the whole group, including Mr Abdelmalak’s sons Simon, Daniel and Josh who have executive roles in the business.

“We are very excited to be moving our head office into one of our own developments. We strive to build homes that are unique and improve people’s lives – this move really cements this for us,” Simon Abdelmalak said.
